Background: Riza Hawkeye was born spoiled. Daughter of a military trainer and an entrepreneur from Earth, she was raised as a prized girl who received anything she asked for. But being the only child of her parents, who worked several hours a day, Riza was taught and trained by her family’s maids and butlers instead of her parents.
Riza loved to travel when she was young. Her favorite maid used to take her anywhere she wanted to go; from the mall in town all the way to some of the major monuments of Earth. Riza thought she wanted to be a pilot; able to fly everywhere she wanted to go. But her dreams quickly changed when her favorite maid was in a horrifying plane crash, on her way back from an operation in another city. Riza was devastated, and quickly became a silent, introverted child.
After the death of a maid, the employees of her family sent Riza to a public school. She didn’t make many friends there because of her silence, but she gained an older close friend that she always counted on. When Riza was in grade six, her best friend moved away from her, not mentioning anything to her until he said goodbye one day. She withdrawed from society again, and found herself trying to reach out to her parents more.
The rare times she saw her father, she found herself taking a liking to his career. He took her under his wing and taught her about the military; even showed her fighting moves and how to wield a gun. Riza took it all in eagerly, ready to learn. She even decided that she was going to join the Earth army when she turned fourteen. Though Riza’s mother despised the idea of her daughter joining the military, she tried to support her daughter any way she could.
On her fourteenth birthday, Riza left her only home and was recruited into the army. She struggled to keep up with the other male cadets in classes and training, but because she knew how to hold a gun, she shot up her ranks quickly and became a Warrant Officer.
Her first job in the army was that of a firearms trainer, and she received the job when she turned nineteen. There was a minor mishap one day when a new cadet tried to shoot his gun. The bullet ricocheted off of an object, which caused Riza to tackle a man to the ground in an attempt to save him. Bewildered at whom she covered, she helped her only childhood friend, Roy Mustang, off the ground. Not long after, she was promoted through the ranks and became a First Lieutenant; right-hand lady to Colonel Mustang.
Personality: Riza is a very compassionate and quiet person. Though she may be a bit strict, she comes off as a friendly person with a high tolerance for others. She is a smart woman that may be a bit of a work-a-holic, but she takes her job seriously and would do anything to keep others safe. She is calm and collected when she needs to be, and stern and defensive when she fights for her beliefs. It’s rare that she loses her temper, but when she does, she never backs down from her argument. It’s also rare that she gets embarrassed, but force her to wear a mini-shirt and expect her face to go beat red.
